A Public Announcement (PA) and Evacuation System is intended to alert facility personnel and visitors to an emergency situation and enable efficient evacuation.
Existing rules and regulations provide for different types of PA and evacuation systems, depending on the type of facility, number of floors, and number of people the facility can accommodate at a time. These systems can vary from simple siren alarms and warning lights to sophisticated voice alarm systems (VAS) with dynamic evacuation routes and control center talkback channel.
The PA and Evacuation System is engaged in the event of a local emergency, such as fire, technological incident or terrorist attack threat, or when an emergency notification comes from EMERCOM of Russia or local authorities.
Designing and putting in place a PA and Evacuation System, it is very important to keep in mind that the facility can be visited by physically disabled people. To meet their needs, special solutions are required with features such as vibrating alarms and strobes, both fixed and portable. It is a must to have a control center talkback mechanism to make sure that each and every disabled individual will be successfully evacuated.
“BELTEL has extensive experience of putting in place PA and Evacuation Systems for projects of different types from industrial facilities to hotels and passenger terminals. For each type, we have field-proven solutions and, most importantly, experience of their successful implementation. We know for certain what equipment will work best for your project.”
