JSC “Meditsina” (“The Medicine” Clinic) offers a full range of healthcare services in 69 medical specialties. The Clinic is the first Russian healthcare facility which was accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI), the most impartial and prestigious international accreditation body in the field of healthcare. A winner of many international awards, JSC “Meditsina” is also ISO 9001:2015 certified for the quality of its management.
In 2013, the Clinic’s launched its new, second pavilion which accommodates the innovative cancer center “Sofia”, multi-specialty diagnostic departments and a 105-bed residential care facility with four smart operating rooms. The total area of this 12−storey building exceeds 20,000 square meters. In addition to advanced medical services provided with the use of smart technology, the patients of the Clinic can also enjoy the highest level of comfort.
In 2011, to maintain its high standards, the Clinic decided to upgrade its local area network (LAN) which serves as basis for the Clinic’s engineering systems and medical equipment. Within an agreed timeframe, our engineers completed a full scope of works, including engineering examination, design, supply of equipment, and deployment of a new 2,000-port LAN. They also migrated to the new network all the users, medical equipment, servers and other systems.
The scope of the project also included deployment of an 802.11n Wi-Fi network intended to provide the Clinic’s patients with wireless Internet access, as well as testing and upgrading of the existing structured cabling system (SCS).
As a result of this effort, the Clinic now has a modern robust and scalable LAN featuring advanced functionality, high reliability and throughput.
In the new, 2nd pavilion, a 2,000-port local area network was deployed, as well as an 802.11n Wi-Fi network for wireless access to the Internet. For this, BELTEL engineers have conducted radio measurements in order to calculate the exact number of access points and accurately locate them. High precision performance at this stage was prerequisite for smooth operation of the Wi-Fi network and, therefore, for convenience and comfort of the Clinic’s patients. The new pavilion’s LAN is integrated with the LAN of the main building of the Clinic.
